Something jolly decent to read while you’re in lockdown!

Herbert Jollyman was a jolly decent chap who started in the Army as a Home Service man and ended in the Royal Air Force in France. The book is based on a fascinating series of almost 200 letters written during the First World War from Herbert to his ‘darling little wife’ Hepsie in Billericay, Essex. With many interesting details of Herbert’s training in the Middlesex Regiment at Chatham, Kent, and his experiences behind the Western Front. A wonderfully English true story of love, war, and gardening.

THE JOLLYMAN LETTERS is now available from Amazon in two editions, illustrated throughout with family photos, antique letters, World War I posters, vintage images, stock photos and pictures of family artefacts: the First Edition is in full colour at £49.99 with a matt cover, and because colour printing is so expensive, the Second Edition comes in black-and-white at £14.99 with a gloss cover. Both are 6″ x 9″, with 576 pages. Or if you don’t want to wait, ebook versions are available to download right now.
